THE 60's

The American heartland has been a breeding ground for world renowned contemporary artists for decades. Schifman, like fellow artists Robert Rauschenberg and Jackson Pollock, studied at the Kansas City Art Institute. Schifman majored in Design and Painting at the the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

 

THE 70's

Schifman worked as a commercial artist and illustrator in his early career. He served as an Art Director and expanded into the world of fashion and industrial design in New York City alongside the likes of Andy Warhol.

 

THE 80's/90's  

Schifman relocated to the beautiful desert of Tucson, Arizona and forged one of the leading design/build companies in the industry. The Larson Company. projects  included Mars futuristic simulation for the Smithsonian Museum, a 150 -foot 19th century shipwreck for Disney, artificial environment for the world’s largest aquarium in Osaka Japan to fantasy characters at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. 

 

2000 and Beyond:                           Schifman moved to Arizona and set up an art studio in Paradise Valley, a hidden enclave near Phoenix.  He recently built a private art gallery, VORTEX 2 SEDONA, and a second studio in the majestic red rocks of Sedona, Arizona.
